Therapies
For PMS

There is no universal therapy or definitive solution for PMS. Therapy is aimed at reducing symptoms. What works for one woman may not work for another. Treatment, to be effective, must be individualized, based on each woman’s pattern of symptoms. The following are therapies which may be suggested for the treatment of PMS:

A balanced diet. Proper nutrition is necessary to keep the mind and body in balance. We suggest a multivitamin, multimineral nutritional supplement such as Ultravite PMS, designed specifically for relief of the symptoms of PMS. Suggested dosage is 2 tablets with breakfast and 2 tablets with supper for the first two weeks of your cycle, then 2 tablets three times a day, with each meal, for the last two weeks of your cycle. By increasing your vitamin and mineral supplementation, you may be able to avoid some of the common food cravings associated with PMS.

Regular exercise. An exercise routine that is right for you can help you manage PMS. Spending 20-30 minutes exercising several times a week may help reduce or alleviate many PMS symptoms.

Meals. Eat smaller portions, but more often, throughout the day. Cut down on sweets, caffeine, and chocolate.

Stress relief. Stress might contribute to PMS. Identify factors that trigger your stress response. Attempt to reduce your stress triggers and develop more effective coping mechanisms.

Medications. In some instances, physicians may prescribe medication for PMS, including hormones and diuretics.
